Prevention of DVT

There are a lot of ways you can adopt if you want to prevent the development of deep vein thrombosis. Just some lifestyle changes can really help you a lot with this. And we are going to start with smoking. Smoking can be a risk factor as well. Although weak, it can be a causative factor [1]. Blood pressure can lead to conditions that cause DVT. Hence, if you modify your diet a little bit, you can stay away from DVT and PE, reduce the use of salt, eat more fiber, etc. Similarly, losing weight can also help with this situation. Long durations of sitting should be avoided [2]. If you’re traveling or flying for a long time, get up and move about every now and then. Stretch your calves by flexing your legs. Drink a lot of fluids as well, as it helps with the prevention.
